Who doesn’t love a Christmas wedding? Combing the festive spirit with the joy of getting married is such a lovely thing. Even if you have had to downsize your festive wedding celebration you can still sprinkle some festive magic throughout.
To start with the decor of a Christmas wedding is spectacular, the use of pines, holly, and glitter is a dream. A simple decoration of some holly with some red ribbon creates a magical touch. Who can forget the mistletoe too for the newlyweds? Wreaths are a festive staple so don’t forget them on your wedding day, these can make a gorgeous decoration for the service and the ceremony. They also make a great photo prop!
Given we live in Scotland where it is normally a little chilly, the winter months are no exception. This gives the perfect excuse to get a statement jacket, think a customised leather jacket or a cosy faux fur. You can really go all out on your dress as well, think sparkles to the max. Long sleeves are always a great idea, and always make a dress look sophisticated.
While you don’t have to do the classic red and green for a festive wedding, jewel tones are a great alternative. Think deep sapphire blue, rich golds and enchanting amethyst shades for touches throughout the day. These tones will look stunning in a winter setting. Sequins are always welcome as well!
Food and drink are one of the big parts of Christmas that people look forward to, so for food why not serve mince pies and mulled wine on your wedding day. If you’re anything like us and have mourned the loss of the Edinburgh Christmas Market this year why not serve your favourite treats.
Here at La Novia we hope you have a lovely festive season and if you are getting married over the festive period we hope you have a magical day.
